Global Payroll Associate Location: London, UK | Team: Finance Job Summary The Verition Finance team is seeking a Global Payroll Associate to own and manage payroll operations for EMEA and APAC entities. This role will be based in London and will be primarily responsible for the United Kingdom, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Dubai payrolls, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and an excellent employee experience across all international locations. This role will work closely with the existing US payroll team and report to the Head of Compensation. Responsibilities Execute and manage end-to-end payroll processing for all EMEA and APAC entities (UK, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Dubai), ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations. Oversee payroll operations to ensure timely and accurate processing of salaries, bonuses, benefits, overtime, taxes, statutory payments, and other deductions, including employee lifecycle changes such as hires, terminations, and compensation updates. Manage relationships with international payroll vendors, ensuring payroll submissions, filings, and reporting obligations are completed accurately and on time, while identifying opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies. Ensure compliance with all international payroll regulatory requirements, including tax filings, statutory reporting, and jurisdiction-specific payroll obligations. Partner with HR to support accurate processing of compensation and benefits transactions and manage onboarding-related payments in accordance with employment contracts. Develop and maintain employee self-service resources and proactive communications, while managing payroll-related queries across multiple channels to deliver excellent employee experience. Establish and continuously improve payroll processes, controls, and audit practices to enhance accuracy, scalability, compliance, and operational efficiency. Support the onboarding of new international entities and office locations into payroll platforms and processes. Assist with internal and external payroll audits across jurisdictions. Collaborate closely with the US payroll team to maintain consistent global payroll standards and share best practices. Key Competencies Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail. Advanced Excel skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and in collaboration with a team in a fast-paced environment. Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong work ethic with the ability to meet deadlines in a demanding, detail-oriented environment. Confident in liaising with employees, HR partners, and senior management. Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal teams, vendors, and external advisors. Required Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum 8 years of relevant payroll experience, with significant hands-on experience running UK payroll. Comprehensive knowledge of UK payroll legislation, tax regulations, and statutory compliance requirements (PAYE, National Insurance, pension auto-enrolment, etc.). Experience managing payroll across multiple international jurisdictions. Familiarity with payroll for Singapore and Hong Kong is a strong plus. Proven track record of process improvement.
