Who We Are Looking For State Street Investment Management is looking for a senior Business Analyst, officer for our China office, as part of the Information Technology organization. This position will be responsible for leading business analysis and driving solution delivery for investment management applications and platforms, working closely with global business stakeholders and technology teams. The role requires the ability to operate with a high degree of independence, own workstreams end to end, and translate business priorities into clear requirements, delivery plans, and implementation outcomes that improve operational efficiency and support risk and control standards. The candidate should have working knowledge of asset management business and applications , with exposure to areas such as Content management systems, Product information systems, Marketing and Sales applications, workflow applications. What You Will Be Responsible For Lead business analysis activities for investment management applications, independently driving requirement capture, analysis, prioritization, and documentation to support strategic and operational initiatives. Partner directly with global business stakeholders (e.g., Global Funds Management, Digital Marketing) to understand business objectives, challenge assumptions where needed, and translate priorities into well-defined requirements and actionable delivery scope. Work closely with technology teams to clarify requirements, support solution design decisions, manage delivery dependencies, and ensure correct interpretation and execution of business needs. Own business solution delivery for applications such as ssga.com, global fund management tools, including planning, stakeholder alignment, issue resolution, testing coordination, and implementation support. Analyze business processes and workflows, identify gaps and risks, and recommend pragmatic solutions and process improvements that support scalable delivery. Lead Business as Usual (BAU) support activities for assigned applications, including issue triage, impact assessment, stakeholder communication, and coordination of timely resolution or workaround solutions. Maintain high-quality documentation, including business requirements, use cases, process flows, data definitions, decisions, and supporting analysis artifacts, to ensure traceability and delivery readiness. Apply risk, compliance, and control expectations in day-to-day delivery, proactively identify issues, and raise decisions or risks in a timely manner to support successful project execution. What We Value Foundational knowledge of asset management business and familiarity with investment management concepts such as products, performance, risk, and client data. Strong business analysis capability, with the ability to structure ambiguous problems , define scope, and translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements with limited supervision. Ability to manage stakeholder expectations independently by clarifying scope, priorities, dependencies, and trade-offs, and by confirming decisions and outcomes in a timely manner. S trong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both business and technology stakeholders. Confidence to ask the right questions, facilitate alignment, drive decision-making, and escalate appropriately to keep projects moving forward. Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and clarity. A learning-oriented mindset and curiosity, with willingness to continuously expand business knowledge and technical understanding. Ability to manage multiple tasks, adapt to changing priorities, and work effectively in a fast-paced, global environment. Education & Preferred Qualifications/Skills 3–5 years of relevant experience in business analysis, financial services, asset management, data analytics, or technology-enabled business roles , with demonstrated experience owning deliverables or workstreams independently. Experience leading requirement analysis, documentation, testing coordination, and delivery support for business or IT initiatives , with the ability to drive progress independently across multiple stakeholders. Working knowledge of IT infrastructure, systems development, and software development lifecycle and Application integration patterns including Restful API, Web Services, Event driven architecture, Database Views, etc. F amiliarity with tools such as Excel, Power BI, or similar is preferred. Proficiency with collaboration and tracking tools such as JIRA, or equivalent. Good written and verbal English communication skills. Knowledge of asset management applications or digital investment platforms is a must. Knowledge on User Experience and User Interface Design a plus.
