Job Description Summary Raymond James is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Mutual Fund Reconciliation Support Associate to support the daily reconciliation and balancing of mutual fund positions, cash activity, and related transactions. This role is responsible for identifying, analyzing, and resolving reconciliation discrepancies between omnibus vendors, fund companies, and the firm's books and records while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal operational standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of mutual fund operations, reconciliation processes, investment products, and accounting principles. This position requires excellent analytical skills, strong organizational abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple priorities. Job Description Responsibilities: Follow established operational procedures, internal controls, and regulatory requirements to ensure work is completed accurately and in compliance with applicable standards. Analyze and resolve complex mutual fund activity discrepancies between omnibus vendors, fund companies, transfer agents, custodians, and Raymond James books and records. Identify transactions causing position breaks and facilitate timely correction and resolution with internal and external business partners. Review and analyze reconciliation issues, investigate variances, and determine appropriate corrective actions. Conduct data entry and validation activities within company systems, ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and accessibility of information. Prepare and maintain reconciliation reports, exception logs, and supporting documentation. Monitor aged reconciliation items and escalate unresolved issues as appropriate. Perform root cause analysis on recurring reconciliation exceptions and recommend process improvements. Utilize Microsoft Excel and other reporting tools to analyze data, identify trends, and support decision-making. Partner with Operations, Fund Companies, Transfer Agents, Technology, Compliance, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate transaction processing and issue resolution. Assist with testing, implementation, and enhancement of reconciliation workflows, operational processes, and system improvements. Support audit requests, regulatory examinations, and internal control reviews through comprehensive documentation and reporting. Provide guidance, training, and subject matter expertise to team members as needed. Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned. Knowledge of: Mutual fund operations, reconciliation processes, and financial services industry practices. Basic investment concepts, products, procedures, and industry regulations related to mutual fund reconciliation activities. Accounting principles and financial transaction processing. Reconciliation methodologies and controls related to position and cash balancing. Customer service principles and professional business communication practices. Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and other business applications. Skills: Identifying, researching, and resolving share and cash discrepancies. Identifying financial events that impact balancing and reconciliation activities. Monitoring, interpreting, and applying policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Reviewing operational issues and developing effective corrective action plans. Planning, organizing, prioritizing, and managing multiple tasks and deadlines. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and investigative abilities. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Building productive working relationships across functional teams and external partners. Attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
