Morgan Stanley's Global Sustainability Office (GSO) aims to drive the growth of sustainable investing through ongoing development of products and solutions, economic analysis, thought leadership and capacity building initiatives. Within GSO, the Global Sustainable Finance (GSF) team's work supports the development and creation of financial products and digital applications across Investment Banking, Sales & Trading, Investment Management and Wealth Management divisions globally. The GSF Products & Solutions team is seeking an Analyst based in New York to support research on sustainable finance topics and trends, development and maintenance of client-facing materials, and coordination of key internal projects, meetings and events. Successful candidates will have a demonstrated ability to conduct insightful research, perform quantitative analysis, and synthesize findings as well as an interest in sustainability issues. Additionally, successful candidates will be well-organized and detail oriented, and will work well in team environments. What you'll do in the role: Support execution and project management of innovative sustainable finance products, solutions, tools, events and insights in collaboration with teams across Morgan Stanley Institutional Securities Group, Wealth Management and Investment Management Conduct thorough quantitative and qualitative research using financial and sustainability data, reports and literature Produce decision-useful materials that synthesize analyses, trends and opportunities/risks for a diverse set of client, investor and executive-level audiences that reflect a range of sustainable finance concepts and approaches Assist with development and quality assurance of presentations, reports and analyses for a diverse set of partners, clients and senior decision makers Operate collaboratively as part of a global team in the US and Europe and support global projects and initiatives, including across Asia and Japan Engage, as necessary, with functions across the Firm including Legal, Risk, Compliance, Technology, Corporate Communications and Marketing What you'll bring to the role: Undergraduate degree; economics, finance or sustainability coursework a plus 0-2 years of work experience, preferably in financial services, consulting, or sustainability Strong and efficient research capabilities, with ability to prioritize and analyze information that is both quantitative and qualitative in nature Familiarity with sustainable finance concepts and data Demonstrated experience with PowerPoint, Excel and AI tools Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal - Japanese language skills are a plus Comfort juggling multiple priorities; strong organizational and time management skills Ability to work effectively as a member of a team and as a self-starter Strong attention to detail with persistence, tenacity and drive for results WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM MORGAN STANLEY: At Morgan Stanley, we raise, manage and allocate capital for our clients – helping them reach their goals. Expected base pay rates for the role will be between 75000 and 95000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
